Arbor Vitae Campground 2011

We spent 10 wonderful days up North in Arbor Vitae, WI. We are only across the street from Big Arbor Vitae Lake, which has a creek that runs off and through the campground. The kids love to float it. We are only minutes from Minocqua, too, which is like a little Wisconsin Dells. The "Moms" take an afternoon to go shop and have lunch together each year. We do fun day trips like Mini-Golf, the Zoo, Paul Bunyan's for breakfast, Go-Karts, and a Fudge Shoppe downtown. We also found a Harley Davidson store this year, and a tattoo parlor downtown! We were there during that heat wave in July, but we stayed cool in the lake and creek. We had 6 families to start, and 2 more families that joined the last 4 days. We were missing one regular family since the Mama was due that same week. We were alerted via texts and emails when the baby was born. (Welcome Kennedy Rose!) We will meet her on the next camp trip over Labor Day weekend.

This picture cracks me up every time I look at it. My Dad asked Ella if she wanted help getting in the creek, so she threw her floaty down at his feet for him to carry for her! You can see my hands hand up like, "What?!" So funny.

S'mores!

A line formed in front of the "Camping Grampa". He checks each kids for fleas, belly beetles, ticks, etc! Hard to tell who has more fun sometimes.

Where did it go??

Much deserved Ice Cream break, it was H.O.T.

The annual breakfast at Paul Bunyan's. A cook jumped into the picture, too!

Adia found a spot where the creek pours out of the lake with thousands of minnows! The kids were mesmerized, and played catch and release the rest of the trip.

Pat's new Ink
Kurt, Hilary, and Charlene also got tattoos. Last year Delbert and Jeremy started the tradition.

Swimming! This year Adia is a REAL swimmer. Very exciting for her.
